Christmas 2012

Ermehgerd, I'm finally getting some Christmas pictures up!  We spent Christmas in Dallas this year.  We've been alternating Christmas and Thanksgiving with the families since we got married, and it's worked out pretty well so far.  The goal is to get as much family time in as possible!

We did a lot of relaxing and eating this year, which is just fine by me.  Poor Kip was really sick the entire time.  Luckily, my parent's house begs you to lie on the sofa and watch movies.  We did make it out to the new Perot Museum, which was really fun.  Meredith and Seth came, as did Edward's new bestie Lou with her mama, Bianca and aunties.  There was literally 15 of us trying to work our way through this huge museum with two toddlers.  At one point, Edward was upset about leaving the animal exhibit and let out the loudest, longest, red-faced scream I have ever heard - in. the. elevator. The woman standing next to me remarked on his impressive set of pipes.  I just hid my head and pretended he was somebody else's child.  We ended on a high note with the dinosaurs though.  Edward LOVES the dinosaurs.

Ok now for some pics.  The theme of the pictures this year is everyone trying to get a picture with Edward and the little rascal not cooperating.  He's very busy now, but everybody just wants to cuddle him and he has no time for that.  You will see ...

Edward opens the first of many gifts.  He totally gets what presents are this year and loves it.

The cutest little piano just his size! (Now I don't have to worry about him standing on our baby grande piano at home)

Cute moment with Uncle Bobo.  Edward is such a guys' guy.

And now for a series I like to call "Looking into Heaven (a backyard full of dogs) with No Pants"

Cute Family Moment:

Cuteness of Elizabeth, Mom & Laura

When did I get so tall?
(update: Kip just pointed out we are standing on a stair)

Elizabeth trying to get a picture with Edward.

And so is Laura.

But this guy is busy!

Now The Suze tries to get in on the picture action with more success (but you can see he's ready to bolt)

This just makes me laugh.

Meanwhile ...

Random Christmas PJ Tickle Time (I have never met a kid who loves to be tickled as much as Edward does)

Whew!

I love this.

Edward loves to make his toys kiss.  He's so sweet.

The Christmas Eve table (notice Ella on the left)

Clearly Bo wins at getting cute pictures with Edward.

This Christmas we had major drama.  We could not find our copy of White Christmas anywhere.  Not only that, we also learned most people we are friends with have never even seen White Christmas!!! There were sobs and tantrums, but one person refused to give up hope.  The Suze put on her fur coat and snuck out of the house in the middle of a torrential blizzard to head over to our dear friends The Burkhead's.  They generously loaned us their copy of White Christmas and Christmas was saved!!

For some reason I have no pictures of Edward waking up to see what Santa brought him.  If I find some, I will post them in another post.  I will tell you that to Edward, this Christmas was another Tuesday.  He is so used to getting presents, I'm not sure he totally got the magnitude of what it means to have Santa visit.  It's ok, he's 2.  But I will say his favorite gift from Santa was the 3 ft tall dinosaur.  That pretty much blew his mind.

I'll end this super long post with this moment of cuteness.

Merry Christmas!
