Happy Mother's Day!

Dear Edward and Christopher,

My sweet boys. Christopher, even though it's our first Mother's Day together, you've always been in my heart. While I was prepared to love all of my children equally and knew I easily had room in my heart for both of you, I had no idea that I would also fall in love with you two as brothers. It's like I got three times the love when we welcomed Christopher into our world. I love you as individuals and as a team. I love the way you adore each other and seem to really need each other. It's a beautiful bond that runs deeper than friendship. I hope as your mom I can help encourage that to grow.

Edward, you are so funny right now. You're imagination is just amazing to me and I never get tired of hearing how you interpret the world. You are also certain you are right. I admire that confidence and imagine it's a bit of a prelude to what we'll get from you in high school ;) I love our snuggles and songs and I also love seeing you grow a little more independent. I still can't believe I get to be your mom. It's an honor.

Christopher, you just make me so happy. I can spend hours watching you pick something up, bang it on the floor and toss it aside or squeal and bang it on the floor some more. Your curiosity and enthusiasm is infectious and inspiring. And your squishy little thighs and tushy are pretty much the greatest thing ever.

I could go on for pages with all the things I love about you, but that's basically what this blog is for. So instead, I will just say it is my greatest joy to be your mother. Really and truly. Nothing in the world is better. You are the best gifts I have ever been given.  I love you to the moon and back.

Love,
Mommy

Christopher looks at his favorite picture (seriously, whenever he sees it he smiles)
