Three Years of Punkin' Picking

Every year my Mom's group takes a little trip to the pumpkin patch with our kids. I can't believe it's my 3rd year already! I thought I'd look back at the first two years before sharing pictures from today. Of all the sentimental posts I write on here, this one might be the one that gets me the most.

2011
The first year we went to the pumpkin patch. I completely underestimated how much colder it would be out on the farm with the wind blowing, and I ended up borrowing a sweatshirt from one of the Moms. It was a purple girls' sweatshirt with little pleated shoulders. Edward looked very Justin Beiber in it.

2012
Edward was in no mood for the pumpkin patch this year.  It was freezing and during his nap time.  You can read my play-by-play in the Instagram captions. (I miss that hair).

Note: I love that Bo's future wife (littlebeanshop)  "liked" some of the pics. We had never met at this point (and she and Bo had not had a date yet), but we had a mutual love for each other's children and now they get to be cousins!!

2013
This year the weather was gorgeous and Edward was super excited! We went to a different pumpkin patch (Louisburg Cider Mill) and Edward got to see how they make apple cider and donuts. He was not interested in the tour though.  All he wanted to do was run and jump off of hay barrels.  Very little has changed in that respect.  Christopher was in his stroller sleeping most of the time.  I can't wait until he's big enough to pick pumpkins. I 'm guessing he'll be walking this time next year so we'll see!

P.S.  someday I'll remember to bring my good camera (sigh)

First thing he did when we got there was climb the hay stacks

The rare perfect picture

I'm sure they're all trying to figure out how to get over the fence to run.  Never underestimate the joy an open field will bring to a little boy.

Edward and his best bud (they stopped to give each other hugs and hold hands, something I'm sure they'll be embarrassed about someday, but it's so sweet)

So strong

and so proud!

trying his first cider doughnut

On the hayride

on the hay stack that was 6 feet tall

jumping off of the haystack (I have no idea how I got this shot)

letting a goat lick him

Edward is on the right ... no clue

3 Feet Tall

And he's off

and he's off again

sliding down the big dirt hill slide

he's on the right literally sliding down the dirt

falling over the vines

picking his perfect "punkin'"

so proud
